Moussa Blimpo:
A Champion for Economic Equality and Inclusivity
Moussa Blimpo is an accomplished economist and a leading expert on economic inequality. He serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy and is highly regarded for his work in the field.
Before joining the University of Toronto, Blimpo spent several years as a senior economist in the World Bank's Chief Economist Office for Africa. He completed his Ph.D. in economics from New York University and was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University's Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR). He has also served as an Assistant Professor of economics and international studies at the University of Oklahoma.
Blimpo is a Senior Fellow in the Clean Air Task Force's Africa program on Energy and Climate Innovation and a Fellow at Energy for Growth Hub. He is an applied micro-economist with a focus on developing economies, mainly in Africa. He is the founding director of the Center for Research and Opinion Polls (CROP), a think tank in Togo that he led from 2011 to 2015. Blimpo is now an advisor for The People's Accords, where he brings his expertise and insights to address the critical issue of economic inequality.
