Sustainable Agropractice

Curbing Hunger & Improving Health

Introduction

The world's population is projected to reach 10 billion by 2050, and according to the United Nations, more than 820 million people are undernourished. The food system is plagued by environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, and unsustainable farming practices such as monoculture, overuse of fertilizers and pesticides, and large-scale irrigation. Sustainable agriculture practices are the solution. Sustainable agriculture refers to the use of practices and techniques that enhance the productivity of the land, protect the environment, and improve the economic and social well-being of farmers and their communities.

Expected Outcomes

Conclusion

Sustainable agriculture practices can help curb hunger and improve health while preserving the environment. By adopting 1. Crop Rotation, a practice where crops are rotated in a specific order or sequence to maintain the fertility of the soil. 2. Conservation Tillage, a practice where most of the previous crop's residue is left on the field to minimize soil disruption and erosion. 3. Organic Farming, a practice where crops are grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, and only natural methods are used for pest and disease control. With sustainable agriculture practices, farmers can increase their crop productivity.
